The end.

If you’ve been reading my humble little blog here, you’ve probably picked up on the fact that I’ve alluded to some ‘big life changes’ coming my way. Well, this is it. I’ve left my job as the Visual Merchandising and Activities Specialist at IKEA. The drive inside of me for more and better and teamwork and nurturing and teaching and creative problem-solving has been burning for a while now, and while I tried to make that happen inside the big blue box it just wasn’t in the cards at this time.

“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.”

“Always let your voice be heard and never quiet your thunder.”

“Relax. It will all work out. You will make it happen. It will be okay.”

“If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one.”

“Create your change.”

“You can just do things. You don’t need to be ready. You don’t need to be qualified. You don’t need to know everything. All you need is to decide. To commit. To learn as you go. Key word ‘Go.’ There is no perfect plan, no perfect time, no perfect anything. The world is divided into those who wait, and those who don’t.”

“I won’t be remembered as a woman who kept her mouth shut. I’m okay with that.”

It’s time to start something new, and while I’m not quite sure what that is yet, that’s okay. I’m damn excited. Now is the time to finally focus on myself and what mark I want to leave here on this earth. It’s time to identify (okay, rather, scream them out to the universe) and plan those goals. It’s time not to be afraid but to be bold and confident in my choices and to leave my legacy.

Welcome to the new era. The Terrible Tews is here to stay and go through some growing pains as I figure this all out. I hope you’ll stick around to see what I’m up to and which direction I choose first. In the meantime, if you are somebody (or know somebody) who needs some creative services in their life please reach out! I’d love to discuss your project and see if we are a good fit. I’d like to do some large-scale paintings/murals/installations soon, I would love to design and implement some holiday windows for your small businesses, and I would absolutely adore to illustrate even more children’s books (toys or games, too!).

And don’t worry, there will continue to be plenty of content coming your way here and on socials! Bear with me as I get my kiddo back in school, and get the new schedule sorted in the coming weeks. I can’t wait to get this party started, it’s going to be a fun one!
